Meet the Characters: Chad

Chad first appeared in Summer Love Autumn Goodbye. While it is the only book that he is featured in, there are numerous references to him throughout the series.

Growing up, Chad idolized his older brothers. When they left home (or were kicked out), Chad stayed close to them. Once he was a teenager, Dravyn and Eric introduced Chad to their world.

Drugs, alcohol, and parties quickly became his life as well.

One bad decision led to another, and Chad found himself behind bars.

The rest of Chad’s story is in the book, but please keep an open mind while reading it. Chad made bad decisions, but he was not a bad person. On the contrary, Chad spent the last few years of his short life trying to make up for the mistakes of his youth. His struggles were real. Struggles that teens deal with daily. If anyone can benefit from his story, it will all be worth it.

Chad’s story is my plea for people to not be afraid to reach out when they are struggling. He had so many amazing people in his life, but he wouldn’t accept the help he so desperately needed. If he would have let people help him, maybe his story wouldn’t be so tragic.
