A Small Update
Honestly, life has been so busy these last few months, posting updates on here has been the last thing on my mind. I have one child that moved schools this year. Another child is making the jump to virtual school next week. Another is a senior in high school. To say that life has been challenging would be an understatement. Don’t worry, I HAVE BEEN WRITING! I just haven’t been writing updates on my writing. Off the Ropes is almost complete with the first draft. I am hoping to have it finished BEFORE the holidays, so I can edit in January. Of course, my life becomes even more hectic during…

Writing Update
I wanted to have the first draft of On the Mats done by now, but I keep changing the ending. I have an idea for the next book that keeps trying to grab my attention. And my day job is killing me. I have fourteen days until the end of tax season, and there will not be a day off in those last fourteen days. There will be two upper leadership visits in those fourteen days. Then the closing down of five of my six offices, and getting the sixth ready to be the only office in its area that will be open for the summer. I also have a…

A Whole New World
It seems like all of my books happen in trilogies. Self Inflicted, Scars Fade, Time Heals. Out on the Ice. One of the Guys. Dying to Fit In. Each time I finish one, I struggle to leave the characters behind and start something new. I almost always find a way to tie in old characters to new stories. All of my books have been connected. Until now. I don’t have even a working title for this new book, but none of my old characters are part of it, at least at this time. However, I do already have a story building for book two in the trilogy. This time I…

Practically Writing Itself
A couple of days ago, I was hit by a sudden desire to write. It was kind of strange because it seems like I haven’t wanted to write anything in a long time. Or the desire is there, but the words aren’t. Well, I picked up a pen and I couldn’t put it down. The first few chapters practically wrote themselves. Brand new characters. Brand new issues. Brand new story. Still the same theme. #YouAreNotAlone. Charli is your typical outcast. Her family has financial issues. She spends a lot of her free time babysitting her younger siblings. She has only one real friend she can really count on. Landon is…

A Little Procrastination and a lot of Excuses
So, it’s obvious that I have been completely neglecting my writing the last several months. Actually, more like the last year, as I only finished and released one book so far this year, and that won’t be changing. I could come on here and give excuse after excuse. I’ve been busy with work. I had a lot of crocheting to do to be ready for my craft fairs this season. I worked a lot with my kids’ musicals. The bottom line is, I’m tired. I’m tired of telling people I’m a writer, only to have them ask me what my “real” job is. I’m tired of seeing all the chores…

Life Update
Things have been more than a little crazy in my neck of the words these last few months. Of course, tax season was more insane than usual (thanks COVID), and didn’t end in April like it was supposed to. Work took up too much of my time, and there was literally no time to write anything from January to May. I barely had time to sleep or see my kids! Then in May, my oldest son officially left home. He enlisted in the Navy back in December. He was supposed to leave in June, just a couple of weeks after high school graduation. Well, he graduated early because he couldn’t…

Free Time? What’s That?
So, I told myself for months that I wanted to have my first draft of Dying to Fit In done by January, before work gets all crazy on me. Well, I have definitely failed in that mission, but I am absolutely loving where the story is going. Unfortunately, I’m not sure I will have it done before my expected April release date. I still need to finish the draft. Edit. Design a cover (no ideas on that yet). All while working well over 40 hours per week. I’m also struggling with focusing on this story, instead of jotting down ideas for the next one (which is already fairly well planned…

Too Many Ideas; Not Enough Time
The release date for One of the Guys was this last Tuesday. I woke up to some super awesome reviews from my ARC team (Contact me if you want to be part of that team), but my work is never done just because the book is out. I want to keep up with the publishing schedule I have had going, which means my next book will be released in April. Of course, it’s not written yet, which might not seem like a huge problem since there is plenty of time between now and April. The problem is, tax season is in my way. Until the compensation from my books greatly…

Writing Update
One of the Guys is done and currently available for preorder on Amazon! It was one of the books that was harder to write, because I personally have no experience in coming out as transgender, and my own son wasn’t helpful (teenagers…), so I reached out to a really amazing support group that I am in. After listening to their stories, I hope I did it justice. I do have a few ARCs available for anyone that wants to read and review the book before it comes out next month. Just contact me, and let me know you want details! With all the behind-the-scenes work done in One of the…

Writing Update
I have been so busy trying to get everything on this site back up and running that I haven’t been making any writing updates lately. I have a first draft of One of the Guys done. I need to edit. I need to work on a cover. I need to get ARCs available because I want to be able to release in December, before I get too busy with tax season. However, as soon as I finished One of the Guys, I had a brilliant idea for the next book, Dying to Fit In, so I have been scribbling out ideas for that. I have the prologue finished, and ideas…
