Practically Writing Itself
A couple of days ago, I was hit by a sudden desire to write. It was kind of strange because it seems like I haven’t wanted to write anything in a long time. Or the desire is there, but the words aren’t.
Well, I picked up a pen and I couldn’t put it down. The first few chapters practically wrote themselves. Brand new characters. Brand new issues. Brand new story. Still the same theme. #YouAreNotAlone.
Charli is your typical outcast. Her family has financial issues. She spends a lot of her free time babysitting her younger siblings. She has only one real friend she can really count on.
Landon is the complete opposite. A rich, popular athlete with the perfect life. And a perfect girlfriend. Of course, that girlfriend is a bully. And he doesn’t even know who his real friends are. He is more lonely than Charli.
I don’t want to give away too much, but I am really loving these characters. Quinn is Charli’s best friend and also Landon’s sibling. Lana is his stuck-up girlfriend. Kai is Quinn’s love interest as well as he becomes great friends with Landon. I have big plans for not just this book, but at least one more with these characters. Maybe more. It seems they usually end up as trilogies.
I would love to finish the first draft of this story before tax season begins to run my life, but I’m not sure I can make it happen. Unfortunately, there is this crazy big holiday standing in my way that requires my attention…
